Can Xtensions be used in a beauty salon, nail salon or spar?
Yes, Xtensions can be used in hair salons, beauty salons, nail salons, massage and day spars. Anywhere there is a need for a booking system and client records.
Can I use Xtensions on my own PC?
Yes. Xtensions will work on any PC running either windows 2000 or windows XP. The PC must have a minimum of 256MB of RAM. For the cash drawer to work, you need a USB or serial port. For the barcode scanner to work you need a keyboard port. For the receipt printer to work you need a serial port.
What equipment works with Xtensions?
A touch screen monitor, cash drawer, Barcode scanner and receipt printer.
What support is offered and how much does it cost?
We offer full support for Xtensions software- Telephone, remote and email support - you will get 30 days free support during your trial of Xtensions. Following that support is included in your monthly price. Support hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 8pm GMT although support is often available outside of these hours.
Support for hardware can be provided by your hardware vendor or via our partner hardware companies if equipment is purchased through us.
How long will it take to setup Xtensions in my salon?
If you want to use Xtensions on your own PC or laptop without the cash drawer, receipt printer or barcode scanner, it will take us up to 3 working days to build your database once we have your salon information. If you want to follow the simple instructions in the user guide and setup Xtensions yourself, you can be up and running straight away.
Do I have to set up Xtensions myself?
You could do if you wish, although we can do this for you. You will need to fill in excel spread sheets - Service list, Product list, stylist list and roster/timetable. We then create your Xtensions database for you to restore onto your PC or laptop *charges apply for this service
What sort of training is offered?
Telephone Training: Xtensions has been built in such a way that training is hardly needed. We usually give training during first setup over the telephone.
Onsite Training: Depending on your salon location, we can install Xtensions and train you and your staff at your salon - training costs £249+Vat for 1 day
We train a maximum of 8 users in one day
Can Xtensions be modified?
We take note of your requirements and if we think our other customers will benefit from them, we schedule them into the next release of the software. If it is a modification that is specific to your salon, we will quote you for the work.
If you would like to purchase the Xtensions touch screen all in one PC and any other hardware, it will take two to three weeks for us to build your system and have it delivered to you.
How does the email marketing work?
After you have used Xtensions for a while and are happy that it is working for you in the salon, we can then setup the email marketing so that emails are automatically sent to customers to remind them to book appointments. Our professional graphic designers can create emails for you using your salon logo or a picture you would like on the top of the email *charges apply
Can I access the Xtensions database from home?
Yes, you will need another copy of Xtensions. Ideally, you should have broadband at both the salon and at home. We will setup a connection (VPN) between the two sites and you can open Xtensions as though you were in the salon. There is an additional cost for setting up the system like this.
How many computers can Xtensions be installed on?
Xtensions can be installed on up to 10 PCs - all feeding from the same database.
I have a salon that is shared between two companies; can I use Xtensions for both?
Yes but they will need to use 2 databases - so that the financial reporting is separate.
